Maria Vadia Leaders Gathering

 

 

Brother Vernon Robertson predicted that there would be a fire started with the visit of Maria Vadia. Praise God! this is indeed what God did at the Leaders’ Gathering at St. Francis de Sales parish on the weekend of January 8th and 9th.

 

 

 Maria not only brought the participants back to the basics but she set them on fire with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit used Maria and the music ministries to inspire a profound sense of the presence of God. In this atmosphere, Maria not only taught on the gifts of the Spirit but she led the people into practical exercises to manifest these gifts.

 

 

 

Despite the fact that most of the participants were Baptised in the Spirit leaders there were many who had not yet received the gift of tongues. Maria’s first focus was to bring those wanting this gift to manifest it. She brought the enthusiastic group set on fire by her talk and the praise and worship to the front. Here she worked with each individually to receive the gift of tongues. Whether slain in the Spirit or remaining standing after her prayer many received the gift of tongues right on the spot.

 

Maria used a similar process to either open people or deepen them in the Word gifts. Again, after glorious praise and worship and Maria’s inspired preaching members were invited to pray in tongues and listen to what the Lord might be saying for a person each was praying with. She did this three times before inviting the participants to speak what the Lord had been saying to their dyad partner. It was amazing the testimonies of how people, who often did not even know the person they were praying with, said words from God that were immediately confirmed in the person’s life experience. These gifts, nevertheless, need to continue to be used so they will strengthen and be for the building up of the community.

 

Prayer group leaders were also given the opportunity to be prayed for so that the Spirit would use them to bring life and renewal to their prayer groups. All reports regarding this were that new and great things have begun in many prayer groups.

 

Maria’s method of preaching was described by one person as a continuous message that included spontaneous teaching supported by scriptures coupled with testimonies confirming the teaching. These testimonies were from her personal experience and from her missionary and ministry work. Brother Vernon described her teaching style as being a truly anointed use of scriptures.

 

In the evening, the healing service opened to the public was attended by about 200 people half of whom had not been at the Leaders’ Gathering. Prayer teams organized by Lennie David ministered to the many who came for prayer. What was different was that Maria was calling out words of knowledge of particular healings and as one prayer team members said, “We only had to pray with the person to confirm the healing they

already had.” 

The two day gathering had the help of blessed music ministry including Roger Holt and Roy MacIntyre pictured here, Peter Kingsland and Terence D'Souza's and his wonderful music ministry from Sacred Heart in Ladner. The evening gathering was also assisted by music ministry that continue to minister throughout the evening. As at the end of the workshop for leaders those gathered in the Church were reluctant to leave. I guess it is hard to come down from the mountain where there is JOY! JOY! JOY!

 

There were many special guests in the gathering like John Dunne above and Fr. Gabriel pictured here. In fact, there were people from all over the diocese from Powel River to the Fraser Valley, from North Vancouver to White Rock. It was such a great feeling to meet old friends and renew acquaintances. God's love was powerfully manifested at this graced gathering.

 

 

We are looking forward to Maria’s return in May for our Pentecost celebration. We have received the fire at this gathering; at Pentecost as, Brother Vernon says, we can expect a bonfire. Please pray for this event that it will raise us up to the next level and bring many new people to experience the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
